What is PRP Therapy?

PRP is a concentrated solution derived from your own blood, rich in growth factors, bioactive proteins, and regenerative properties. By harnessing your body’s natural healing abilities, PRP accelerates tissue repair, reduces inflammation, and improves mobility—without surgery or long recovery times.

PRP is widely used in sports medicine, orthopedics, and pain management to treat a variety of musculoskeletal conditions naturally and effectively.

How PRP is Obtained & Applied

Step 1 : Blood Withdrawal

A small amount of blood is drawn from the patient and placed in a sterile, FDA-approved tube for processing.

Step 2 : Platelet Separation

The blood is spun in a centrifuge to separate its components, isolating the platelet-rich plasma (PRP) from red blood cells.

Step 3 : Extracting PRP

The PRP layer is carefully withdrawn using a sterile syringe to retain the highest concentration of healing platelets.

Step 4 : Transmitting PRP

The PRP is injected directly into the injured or targeted area, often with ultrasound guidance, to stimulate healing and tissue regeneration.

Why Choose PRP Therapy?

Little to No Risk Factors

PRP is 100% natural—it comes from your own blood. This means:

Since the cells are autologous (from your own body), PRP Therapy is one of the safest regenerative treatments available when performed by trained medical professionals.

Supports Tissue Repair and Recovery

PRP signals stem cells and regenerative cells to:

🩹 Repair & rebuild damaged tissue
💪 Reduce inflammation & pain
⚡ Increase mobility & strength

This healing process occurs over 4-6 weeks, allowing the body to gradually regain function and reduce discomfort.

FAQ:

What is PRP therapy?

PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma) therapy uses concentrated platelets from your own blood to promote natural healing in injured tissues. We draw a small amount of blood, concentrate the healing platelets using a centrifuge, and inject them into the injured area to stimulate tissue repair and reduce inflammation.

PRP is effective for knee arthritis, rotator cuff tendonitis, tennis elbow, plantar fasciitis, hamstring strains, Achilles tendonitis, chronic tendonitis, and other soft tissue injuries.

Yes, PRP can help reduce pain and inflammation associated with knee arthritis, hip arthritis, and shoulder arthritis, especially in the early to moderate stages. While it won’t reverse severe bone-on-bone arthritis, many patients experience significant symptom relief and improved function.

PRP is autologous, meaning it comes from your own body, so there’s minimal risk of allergic reactions or complications. Mild soreness or swelling at the injection site may occur but usually resolves quickly.

A PRP procedure is a quick outpatient treatment, typically lasting about 30 minutes from start to finish.

The procedure involves drawing blood and injecting the PRP into the affected area, which may cause mild discomfort. However, we use a local anesthetic to numb the area, making the process as comfortable as possible.

For the first 48-72 hours, avoid strenuous activity, anti-inflammatory medications (like ibuprofen or Advil), and ice on the injection site, as these can interfere with the healing process. Light movement is encouraged to promote circulation.

After treatment, the anesthetic typically wears off within 1-2 hours. Some patients may experience mild pain and swelling at the injection site, but most can resume normal activities with no downtime. Applying ice and keeping the treated area elevated can help manage soreness.

Light movement and gentle massages are encouraged to promote circulation and support healing. Within a week, patients may begin a rehabilitation program with physical therapy to enhance recovery.

You can typically resume light exercise within a few days. However, high-impact activities or heavy lifting should be avoided for 1-2 weeks. We’ll provide specific guidelines based on your treatment area and activity level.

Unfortunately, PRP therapy is considered an elective procedure, meaning most insurance plans do not cover the treatment. However, we are happy to discuss your options and provide transparent pricing. Feel free to contact us for more details.

The cost of PRP therapy varies depending on the treatment area. Prices range from **$650 to $1,000**. We will provide a full cost breakdown during your consultation so you know exactly what to expect. To learn more about pricing, expected results, and who makes a good candidate for treatment, read our guide: Is PRP Worth It? Cost, Results, and Who’s a Good Candidate.
