Your immune system is your primary defense against viruses, and most viral infections resolve on their own.   4. Humidity helps loosen congestion and soothe irritated airways. Use a humidifier in your bedroom, take warm showers, or inhale steam from a bowl of hot water.
  5. Nutrition supports immune function even when you don’t feel like eating. Focus on easily digestible foods like soups, broths, and soft fruits. Chicken soup has anti-inflammatory properties and helps with hydration.
  6. Time is ultimately the most critical factor. Most colds improve significantly within 7-10 days. If symptoms persist beyond two weeks, worsen after initial improvement, or include high fever, seek medical evaluation.
